I'm gonna brag on my kids a minute here.
We have friends visiting this week. The Boyinks are family we met while traveling in 2013, and they still live on the road full-time, although their oldest child, Harrison, is currently on his own back in Michigan. The remaining three, Mike, Crissa, and Miranda, arrived Sunday afternoon. With it being Mothers Day, the kids and Kevin set to work making a delicious dinner for us. Afterwards, the kids had a special presentation for Crissa and I: a tribute video.
The five kids collaborated on this project and put it together despite being in three different locations across the country. Miranda wrote the song (while in Durango) and all three girls sang it. They recorded it in the backseat of our car (cars make great recording studios) over a video connection. Harrison, who played the guitar piece along with Miranda, then edited it. Joel took all the audio and photo files and edited the video.
I had gone out to the garage while they were recording and was startled as I was not expecting them to be in the car. I had no idea they were working on this. I just thought they were on Skype.
Needless to say, Crissa and I shed a few tears and we love the video. We love it so much and are so impressed with our kids (homeschoolers! boo-ya!) that we are willing to put it out there to share, embarrassing childhood photos and all. The video is in the link below.
